First fire in the woodstove
In my last post I talked about getting ready for winter, and one of those annual log home chores is bringing in enough firewood to last through spring. Well, my bride is now happy that I can remove that project from my ‘honey-do’ list. The weather (and other commitments) cooperated […]
Fall is in the air…
Preparing for winter is something that every homeowner does in one way or another. Even if you live in a home clad in vinyl siding, there are always things that need done to keep Mother Nature where she belongs…outside. Log homes require a tad more TLC and preparation than other […]
Christmas, it truly is the most wonderful time of the year. Even with all the distractions and troubles life keeps putting in our way, isn’t it great that when Christmas rolls around we tend to focus on what’s most important in our lives. In my mind that’s the magic of Christmas, it’s a feeling, […]
Fall is in the air, which means that football and firewood are on my mind. I’ve already seen my team, the Pittsburgh ‘Stillers’, play two regular season games and their performance is telling me this could be a long painful season. Didn’t you have some information about a handmade china closet where you gave plans and pictures? I have been looking for such a winter project to work on…
Guilty as charged, Robert. Sorry you couldn’t find the information you were looking for and that’s probably because I’ve […]
Montana winters are always unpredictable. A few years ago we didn’t receive any snow until Christmas day and other years we’ve had action as early as September. This year winter arrived with a vengeance. It has been snowing for two weeks and last week we had 4-5 days of sub-zero temps (-12 one day).
[…]
Cinco de Mayo means many things to different people. Most I would assume, do not associate this spring celebration with snow…. unless you live in Montana. This is the scene that greeted us this morning.
Although we have a fire in the woodstove and are watching the snow fall, this is a […]
I’m killing time waiting for the Super Bowl festivities to begin, so I thought I’d do something constructive like write about the weather. Here I am in NW Montana (Glacier country I’ll have you know) and we haven’t seen an appreciable snowfall in weeks.
Earlier this morning I spoke with my daughter who lives […]
