HGTV's Susan Welch Heeney to Speak at Log Home and Timber Frame Expeience Oct. 6-8 at Lake George Forum: Weekend Seminars to Focus on Interior Design, Log and Timber Home Construction and Home Financing
LAKE GEORGE, NY -- (10/03/2006; 0700)(EIS) --
Renowned interior designer Susan Welch Heeney, ASID, who has
been featured on HGTV and HGTV.com, will highlight three days of
seminars on topics such as log and timber home construction,
interior design and home financing when the inaugural Johnson's
Log Home and Timber Frame Experience takes center stage Oct. 6-8
at the Lake George Forum.
Heeney, who is sought out by leading home decorating
publications for her astute design sense and has appeared on
"Our Places" and "Trade Secrets," will host a series of one-hour
seminars entitled Living and Decorating Your Dream Home. The
presentations, which will provide attendees with interior design
basics to transform their log homes into magical rustic living
spaces, begin Saturday at 11 a.m. and continue at 1 p.m., 3 p.m.
and 5 p.m. that day. Seminars on Sunday are set for 11 a.m. and
1 p.m.
"Susan not only speaks about creating the lifestyle of log and
timber frame living, she lives it," said Log Home and Timber
Frame Experience President Eric Johnson. "She and her songwriter
husband currently live in a log home in Nashville, TN and have
built another over the past 10 years. Her seminars focus on the
interior design and exterior living that makes these homes so
special."
The three-day show will run Friday from noon to 7 p.m., Saturday
from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Included with the $10 admission (children under 18 are free),
the seminars will give visitors the opportunity to ask questions
and obtain all the information they need to move forward with
their dream log or timber frame home. Admission is valid for all
three days of the show.
In addition to Heeney's informative presentations, the Log Home
and Timber Frame Experience has assembled a collection of
industry experts who will take time away from their booths to
host seminars for visitors at all stages of the log and timber
home building process. The daily seminar schedule is as follows:
Friday, Oct. 6
1 p.m.- Construction Loan Process for Your Log or Timber Frame

frame home.

manufacturer to manufacturer; and how to request a quote for
your log home.

added Johnson. "The seminars are a great way to gain knowledge
at your own pace during the event."
Visitors to the Log and Timber Frame Experience are also
encouraged to bring building plans, sketches or anything else
that inspires their log or timber frame home with them to share
with the experts. Exhibitors will include log home companies,
rustic furniture makers, HVAC companies, insulation firms, real
estate agents, finance companies and hot tub, sauna and spa
manufacturers.
