Log Homes & Log Cabins FOR SALE

Mayday, mayday… maymonth?

Every dog has his day… and apparently this is also true for “months”, as I just found out that May is national Home Improvement Month. Man, I have been living a sheltered life, but now I am finally aware.

Around my house every month is “Home Improvement Month”. Between my bride’s honey-do list (that has never fallen below a dozen items), unexpected electrical, plumbing and planned obsolescence failures of some sort, and routine maintenance, I don’t think I’ve ever experienced a month that didn’t see some kind of home improvement. I guess I should celebrate this every month!

In most instances, home improvement means DIY. In celebration of May’s DIY designation, I suggest you improve the look of your home by adding a piece of homemade log furniture. To get you started, I have a video that explains how to use a drawknife to peel you logs and the easiest way to cut a tenon for a perfect mortise and tenon woodworking joint.

If you are not the DIY type… my advice for adding the rustic furniture still stands. You can make it easy on yourself by visiting our largest advertiser, who just happens to be one of the oldest and largest log & rustic online stores. Take a few moments and browse through AspenLog’s furniture and rustic decor gallery…. it’s worth the trip.
