Got Chainsaw?

Chainsaw carvings are generally associated with deep woods or rustic decorating, but these days chainsaw art is now found in corporate offices, museums and homes around the world. This popular art form has been gaining momentum in the past few years and that is why our family of rustic directories now include Chainsaw Art. Besides a listing of the top carvers and featured artists, etc., we also try to mention noteworthy events from around the country.

One such event will be happening on June 15-18th. in Reedsport, OR, the Oregon Divisional Chainsaw Sculpting Championships. This is an annual Father’s Day Weekend event with Championships that see large Sitka Spruce logs transformed into works of art by World Class Chainsaw Sculptors. The theme for the 2006 event is “Down on the Farm”. This event has been chosen as one of a series of events to qualify for the Echo Cup Championship to be held in August.

If you haven’t yet visited our Chainsaw Art Directory, you owe yourself a quick tour – read what all the fuss is about. Once you see what can come out of a stump, you’ll be hooked. We have a four foot chainsaw carved bear that holds a “welcome” sign in front of our home. In fact, tha’s our bear at the top of the page on our directory. Every first time visitor to our home makes a comment about how perfect our bear looks waving to them from under a tree. Check it out…
