Log Homes & Log Cabins FOR SALE

Giving thanks for log home friends

On this Thanksgiving Holiday weekend, I would like to say thank you to our visitors and regular readers of this blog.  Now in our fifth year, after hundreds of articles, and thousands of comments, emails and phone calls, I am delighted that so many people subscribed to this blog and visit our log home website so frequently.

I have much to be thankful for and before my Thanksgiving Day dinner, I included you in my silent prayer.  I am thankful that people take time out of their day to visit this website and contribute their ideas and comments. Thank you!

We attribute the act of a thanksgiving celebration to the Pilgrims who landed in the New World in 1620, but it wasn’t until 1863 that President Lincoln proclaimed it a national holiday.  Another little known factoid is that although we picture the Pilgrims living in log cabins, they actually lived in clapboard houses.

The log cabins came later… and over the centuries evolved into today’s log homes having every modern convenience from geo-thermal HVAC and solar power to state-of-the-art appliances controlled via remote Internet access.

Yeah, log cabins may have changed over the years, but the passion to improve one’s lot in life and be thankful for our many blessings is something that even pre-dates the Pilgrims.  While you give thanks this weekend and dream about having next Thanksgiving in your new log home, enjoy the research and building process… it’s fun.  However, you’d better get started soon, log home manufacturers and builders haven’t been this excited to help you since… since… a long time ago.
