A while back I had an idea that interviewing management from log home companies for this blog would add something that I cannot do myself. As the editor of this blog and the Log Home Directory, I am always looking for information that I think would be of interest to people researching log homes. Getting the story from the proverbial horse’s mouth seemed like a great addition.
As many of you know, in addition to our 1000+ member directory, we have launched new resources over the past few years such as our Log Home Floor Plan Showcase, DIY tips, an expanded book & video area, a Log Home Events schedule, Loghomeology terms and definitions of log and timber frame homes, and other interesting topics. As a matter of fact, two new announcements will be forthcoming in the next week so be sure and subscribe to this blog so that you don’t miss our big news.

Although I had planned to make log home company interviews part of this mix, I never had the chance to pursue it, and it remained on my ever-growing list of things to do. That is… until yesterday when I happened to be chatting with the President of a respected log home company in Maine. I asked him if he would be willing to be my first ‘guinnea pig’ interviewee and he graciously agreed.
Tomorrow, I will post this interview, which I hope will be the first of many such interviews with log home industry insiders. Stay tuned… News at 11.
