Got plans to build a log home?

Got logs yet?

I am an optimistic kind of guy, but I am no Pollyanna.  I read the news and follow financial issues and I know how weak this economy is, but I’ve also been around long enough to know that things will eventually change.

Don’t get me wrong… I could climb up on my soapbox and complain about everything that is happening in Washington and who I think is to blame and what should be done about it. And, I believe I’d be right, so if you want to hear… never mind.

The point I have been leading up to is that (and I know you’ve heard this before) now may just be the best time in recent history to build a log home.  I have talked to a number of manufacturers and builders recently and everyone is saying the same thing -  “Make me an offer”.

The economy may be in the tank, but none of these great companies want to lay off people or scale back further than they have already.  If they can make a deal work – they want your business.  Most raw materials and products that go into a log home haven’t been this cheap in decades.  Builders will take on jobs today that they wouldn’t have considered a couple years ago.

If you are one of those people who have the money and are not waiting for a house to sell, or are just waiting to see what will happen… go for it.  Finalize on that log home floor plan and start talking turkey to manufacturers and builders.  You will be surprised what a deal you can make today.

I’m also hoping for some good times ahead…Due to the economic recession around the world, people belonging to this profession are facing some tough times, and offering some most extra ordinary offers in terms of low pricing. I think this will help people to build confidence and they will be able to get a log home for nominal prices. I think this will eventually provide an impetus to the log home industry.
